Who We Are

As a 4th generation funeral director , I have had the pleasure of being involved in so many aspects of the profession over the years. My time as a licensed funeral director in New Brunswick, Ontario and Alberta taught me how to put families, customers first. My period as an embalmer in Japan, and as a funeral college instructor taught me to look at things differently and to be open to new ideas. The time I spent as a cemeterian or 13 years as a columbarium and industry supplier have helped me to focus on the industry and the people we serve. The experience I have had over the years has allowed me to find and align myself with like-minded individuals whom I believe have the characteristics of the “Service First” approach I learned at a very young age. I look forward to this next chapter with a new company and business partner and hope I can aide others in the industry with the knowledge I have gained over the past 40 years.

Along with Derek, I was born into the bereavement industry, but on the supplier side, with my parents being second-generation burial vault suppliers. My husband and I purchased that business in 2006 to become third generation bereavement sector suppliers. Being in this industry, I have been fortunate to serve on several committees and a board member for OACFP, which has helped me to feel a deep connection to this industry. In 2015 I founded the Southwestern Ontario Chapter of The Unforgattables. This charity assists families who have lost a child due to a life-limiting illness. Giving back is very important to us at Kyber, with a portion of our sales going to support these initiatives. Check out our “Giving Back” section! My experience in this industry has taught me that when you deliver quality products and listen to the needs of your customers, great things happen. I hope to serve this industry, to be a partner in the success of their business through working together!
